Wednesday 10th and Thursday 11th February 2016, the ENDORSE partners took part to the EDCTP-TDR-CIHR Ebola Virus Disease Workshop, which was held at Noguchi Memorial Institute of Medical Research (NMIMR)University of Ghana, in AccraGhana.

The workshop, chaired by Dr. Thomas Nyirenda (EDCTP) and Dr. Marc Ouelette (CIHR) has been not only a forum of discussion for grantees recently selected to conduct a range of research – from basic science to implementation research, including capacity development and models of clinical care – but also the occasion to share experiences and ideas for the future. In particular, the 32 collaborators from the 18 grantees who met in Ghana presented their project plans and shared contacts and ideas, creating a preliminary network whose aim is maximizing each project’s impact through strengthening the cooperation among institutions.
Prof. Maria Rita Gismondo, Ms. Giovanna Fotia and Mr. Luca Vitali, representing the University of Milan, together with Dr. Maria Vittoria Cossu, from ASST Fatebenefratelli Sacco and Mr. Emmanuel Ochola, from St. Mary’s Lacor Hospital, presented ENDORSE (ENhancing individual and institutional infectious Disease Outbreaks ResponSe capacities of healthcare professionals to mitigate infectious Emergencies in Northern Uganda region).
